Trials & tribulations

We had to be in the hotel lobby at 4:30 AM so we could take a bus to the Grand Canyon airport. There we were to board a small plane to the North Vegas airport in order to take yet another bus to the main Las Vegas airport to take another plane (this one is a large one) to take us to Miami.

Didn't quite work out so far. The first bus ride was miserable. A guy behind me snored loudly and in intermittent spurts. Just as everyone was falling asleep, he would let one rip and wake eveyone up.

We get to the small airport and after checking in, we are told the planes are overweight. They have extra fuel in the morning so we can't take our luggage with us. Great.

Our luggage will follow us on the next flight that arrives around 11:00 AM. We have to wait for our luggage THEN take the other bus to the airport, go through TSA and get to Miami.

Everyone (bus driver included) says that we won't make it in time. The airport is busy today.

There are not many flights to Miami from Vegas. We can take a red-eye or tomorrow's flight.

We may have an extra day to gamble...

By the way, just so you know, there are a TON of Japanese tourists at the Grand Canyon!
