Hiking in the River Mountains

Today we went hiking in the River Mountains. This was supposed to be a very easy hike. The guy I called yesterday said, and I quote, "Listen, I'm 55 years old, fat and never exercise. I have finished the hike."

I didn't find the hike very difficult but it was exceptionally boring. It's a desert, no trees, absolutely no shade and lots of brown rock. Not very interesting.

Jeanne did have some trouble with the hike. She's still weak from her hospital stay due to pluresy and she actually read the hiking guide! For some unfathomable reason, the guide stated to wear long sleeves. She did, baaad move, it was a desert after all. Me? I read it but I forgot to pack any long sleeved hiking shirts...ignorance is bliss!

By the way, there's no river in sight. I think they call it the River Mountains just to get you there. You can see Lake Meade from the peak but it's a ways off.

So here's the funniest event of the day so far. We are at the hiking company's office and we are all getting bottles of water & snacks. There's only 1 bathroom and the line is like 25 people long. After the hiking guide finishes his speech and answers questions, he asks everyone to board the buses to go to the actual trail. He sees that there is a lady still in the bathroom...damn this is funny.

So the guy yells out, "Hey lady! We gotta go! Pinch it off in there! We're late!" I laughed so hard...

Ok Jeanne is working for a few hours so I'm gonna gamble!

Gamble?

Don't gamble too much in freak-town...

You don't want to end up owing those freaks, you know?
